Rachuba posted the first shot of the second half with 2:54 elasped, but it sailed wide. Mercyhurst had an opportunity from Skidmore that went wide, Ahern was then blocked, and she would force Smizer to make yet another save with 57-seconds left before half keeping things even at the half. The second quarter saw just four shots between the two sides as Rachuba recorded the only chance for the Bobcats in the period. The Bobcats drew level with 1:40 remaining as Gabby Rachuba fired one that Berndt turned aside, but the rebound kicked back out to Brooke Lafayette who pushed it across the line for the 1-1 score through one. Mercyhurst continued the attack with Alexis Lovewell, Hayley Skidmore, and Alexis Skibitsky forcing three saves from Smizer in a 1:10 span.
